To “cross the Rubicon” is defined by the juncture point in decision making where there’s no turning back and you must commit to the path ahead. It carries with it a weight, a responsibility, either financially or otherwise, and there are many Rubicon moments related to owning a boat, especially as they increase in size and complexity.
Owning a vessel can be equated to owning a business—choosing the investment and understanding how it operates go hand-in-hand. Our job is to make sure that as a boat owner, you understand all of the components at play with your vessel so you can make the most educated decisions throughout the process that extend beyond impulse.
Rubicon’s philosophy is shaped by our combined experiences of running expedition programs, managing significant refit projects and solving complex problems on a regular basis.
With expedition cruising, there is no greater challenge than maintaining a vessel and the planning and preparation involved with years of continuous use in isolated, unfamiliar territory. Take care of the boat properly and the boat takes care of you.
When companies call on a consulting firm, it’s because there’s a problem that needs solving. The problems are typically multi-dimensional and the route to a solution is unclear. Recommendations mean little unless they are backed with a combination of qualitative and quantitative data.
Whether the stakes are high or not, we consistently believe that you must maintain a constant level of preparation and lead with facts, not opinions.
